PRESIDENT Mnangagwa and all members of his Cabinet will don Zimbabwe’s National Fabric at every Cabinet meeting throughout May, as the nation commemorates Culture Month.
Yesterday’s Cabinet gathering in Harare marked a significant departure from traditional Western attire.
Rather than the customary suits and ties, Cabinet officials showcased vibrant Zimbabwe Fabric, celebrating the country’s rich heritage and cultural identity.
This initiative demonstrates the Government’s firm commitment to upholding and honoring Zimbabwean values, traditions, and unity.
By opting to wear the National Fabric during official meetings for the entire month, President Mnangagwa’s administration is reaffirming its dedication to preserving indigenous culture while fostering cultural pride, creativity, and genuine local artistic expression.
The President’s choice to wear the Zimbabwe National Fabric during Cabinet meetings throughout Culture Month also aligns with a broader national and continental agenda.
This initiative will culminate in the larger celebrations of Africa Day on May 25, emphasizing Zimbabwe’s role in continental solidarity and shared African cultural values.
Additionally, President Mnangagwa will oversee this year’s main celebrations for National Culture Month, set to take place in Bulawayo Province on May 21. The program aims to highlight the diversity of Zimbabwe’s cultural heritage and to enhance social cohesion through a collective appreciation of indigenous knowledge, creativity, and tradition.
